An artist named Simon Menner has an ongoing art project that involves a couple German snipers and a camera. He was hopeful that he could have actual snipers participate, so after coming up with the idea in 2010, he contacted the German army. They were surprisingly open to the idea. With their participation, he captured the images below after the snipers had concealed themselves within a shooting position. From Simon’s perspective, the images portray how the presence of terror and fear live unseen in the world.
To increase your uneasiness, these photos have the sniper only 10-15 meters away, while in real life, they might be up to a half mile away. See if you see them before they see you. (Note: click on any image for a larger view.)
