How to put coloured lenses

This guide is for those who have bought coloured lenses for the first time and need help with placing in their coloured lenses.

  • Clean your hands and lenses. First before touching your lenses, clean your hands with soap and water and then dry your hands. After that, you must sanitize your lenses in the solution so that you can wear them. That is the case with every new coloured lenses you buy.
  • Place the lenses on your index finger. Place the coloured contact lens, the first one, on your index finger.
  • Hold the eye lids. Second step is about enlarging you eye area so you can place the lens in. Use your other hand’s finger to hold up the upper eyelid and use the thumb to hold down the lower eye lid so that the eye is large enough for th lens to be placed in.
  • Place in the lens. Start by putting the lens in your eye’s corner, on the white part. After that move your iris to the lens and eventually the lens will settle on the iris. All you need to do now is blink a lot so that the lens settles in perfectly. If you are able to put the lens directly on the iris then that would be great but this is more of a practical method.
  • Check. After that all you need to do is move your eyes here and there to see if the lens has settled in perfectly. If there is any irritation then you may need to take off the lens and put it on again. If everything seems fine then you have done a great job. All there is left for you to do is put in the second lens in your eye following the same process.
